Based on Article (13) of the Code of Civil Procedure No. 24 of 1988, as amended, if the person to be served lives in a foreign country and his\her homeland was known,papers are submitted to the Ministry of Justice, for serving him diplomatically unless otherwise stated. The Ministry of Justice has the same role in the event of a request by foreign courts to serve a citizen who lives on Jordanian territory; international conventions issued in this regard should be considered.

Procedures

1. Receipt of a formal request from the civil courts of Jordan or the concerned authorities abroad that includes the notification of the  person to be notified.

2. Get a decision from the competent authority to proceed with the notificationin accordance with legal provisions.

Required Documents

1. An official letter issued by the competent court in the Kingdom or the concerned authorities abroad to make the notification.

2. Attach the notificationform that the person was notified indicating the issuing party, the type of document or judicial paper required to be notified, full name of the person, address, the name of his\her legal representative, and address, if any.
