Approval of Land Donation for Purposes of Building Mosques
Required Documents

1.        Recent zoning plan for plot of land.

2.        Recent plan blueprint of plot of land.

Procedures

1.        Donor(s) must submit a petition to their area’s Directorate of Awqaf requesting the approval to donate a piece of land for the purpose of building a mosque.

2.        A survey of the plot of land is conducted to assess its suitability for building a mosque.

3.        The request is submitted to the Ministry, enclosed with the necessary documents, including a special form with relevant information on the plot of land in question, land zoning and organizational plan, petition by the donor stating that the land is waqf land for purposes of building a mosque, and a letter of approval to allocate the land if it is owned by another official party.

4.        The request is studied by the Directorate of Construction and Maintenance and referred to the Directorate of Properties to resume land registration procedures under the name of the Ministry of Awqaf. Following that, the approval of the Secretary-General or H.E. the Minister is sought.

5.        The concerned Directorate of Awqaf is informed of the approval to allot the land to waqf and commence. construction. The donor is also informed of the content of the approval decision.

6.        Register land under the name of the Ministry of Awqaf at departments of Land Registration in the Kingdom.
