Instructions how to obtain a passport in lieu of missing or spoiled
Procedures

·         In case a Jordanian citizen residing abroad lost his passport, he is expected to apply in writing showing the way he lost his passport, place and date of loosing it.

·         The missing passport holder shall advertise on the local paper in the country where he lost his passport.

·         To report to a local security authority in the country where he resides in order to obtain a loss certificate.

·         The captioned supporting documents together with the necessary recommendations whether to grant him a passport or not, shall be sent to Passports and Civil Status Department.

·         When the approval to issue a new passport is received from Passports department and Intelligence department, the missing passport holder is requested to fill up an application to obtain a new passport as per procedures.

·         The missing passport holder is asked to surrender a financial guaranty organized by the embassy-concerned officer, or by the country notary public. The financial guaranty amounts to 100 JD or equivalent amount in the local currency needs to be authenticated by our missions abroad regularly, in addition, he will undertake to maintain the new passport and will surrender an evidence that the missing passport was not given to the country where he resides seeking its nationality, or any other nationality.
