· The Jordanian passport is renewed upon approval of general intelligence department only without seeking approvals from passports and civil status department in the following cases: o If the applicant is Jordanian holder of family book with national No. and ID, this is applicable to detachment of Jordanians sons. o If the passport to renew is temporary for five years with stamp of Amman passport office on its rear inside cover, and the passport without the national number data. o If the passport was granted to Gaza people for 2 years provided that it was not expired for more than 2 years. · The passport is renewed pending approval of passports and civil status department and general intelligence department in the following cases:
First case · If the applicant is Jordanian national, does not hold a national number, he is a paterfamilias but owning all necessary supporting documents to civilly register the family, he shall attach the following documents to send to passports and civil status department to civilly register the family and obtain national numbers for the family members: o A copy of his passport showing place and file No. o A copy of the wife passport whatever nationality she is o 6 modern color photos for both the husband and his wife o A copy of marriage contract, in Arabic, or attach certified translation provided that the contract was conducted legally by an official authority as per laws and regulations of the country where it was issued and does not contradict with Jordanian laws. o Certificate of birth to the paterfamilias and the Jordanian wife – if any o Certificate of birth to all single sons males and females, translated into Arabic if necessary. o To fill up the personal code data using 4 digits of name for both husband and wife. o To fill up a form to open a new civil record o All attached documents to be authenticated by the embassy or consulate of Jordan · If the applicant is Jordanian but without the complete documents to register the family in the civil record, the application must have a national number whether he is paterfamilias or a family member, therefore, he shall attach the following: o Certified copy of his passport showing place and file No. o Certified copy of certificate of birth, if any o To fill up new civil record form o To fill up personal record form · If the applicant is a Jordanian wife (whatever the husband's nationality is) she shall attach a copy of marriage contract translated into Arabic if issued in other languages provided that this marriage contract is issued by an official legal authority o If the marriage contract is not available, a copy of the passport is adequate once stating she is the wife of … o To fill up the personal record data form Second case: If the temporary passport holder likes to swap it with permanent passport. Third case: If the applicant needs passport in lieu of missing one whatever type of passport is Fourth case: If the validity of the passport for renewal is one year issued by special approval from a concerned authority. Fifth case: If two years passed from date of expiration to passports of Gaza people, the passport will not be renewed unless another approval is obtained from the Ministry of Interior and general intelligence department.
