Pursuant to the provisions of article 6(k) of the Telecom Law No. (13) for the year 1995 as amended, the TRC has the task: “To establish technical rules and standards for the interconnection of wire line or wireless equipment, including Telecom Terminal Equipment with the Public Telecommunications Network, and to set the regulation procedures for importing such equipment into the Kingdom with regard to principles prescribed in the effective Standards and Metrology Law”. furthermore, article 6 (L) has entitled the TRC “To grant the necessary type approvals and regulate the import and usage of Telecom Terminal Equipment for individual and private uses, or use in special zones, and to monitor such usage”.

Conditions for obtaining service

All the devices are to be introduced new and unused or reconstructed- To fulfill all TRC requirements.

Procedures

 

First: fills a written request to TRC to obtain the desired type approval of terminal communication device and attach the necessary requirements (sample, Test reports)

Second: the Technical department studies the request and the attached documents

Third : If the device has obtained prior approval then the TRC issuing a letter of agreement directed to the Director of customs of the region concerned after completion of all the procedures ,this  letter is handed to the concern party(which fill the request)

If the device doesn’t have a type approval

 

 

A sample of the device is requested

 

Test reports (DOC, EMC, SAR.TBR21,etc)

After completing all of TRC requirements a type approval letter  is issued which can be used for full year to import the specific device(Brand, Model)  .

In case of non-conformity (the sample and technical reports) for TRC requirements, the device will be rejected

If the Telecom Terminal Equipment is not previously type approved, the merchant shall provide the TRC with the requirements and documents summed up in this table.
